Istanbul’s Hidden Heritage: Art Deco Revealed Itself in Brussels!
The exhibition “Bridging Art Deco: A Hidden Heritage from Istanbul to Brussels”, part of the European Heritage Days in Türkiye and Belgium, explores Istanbul’s Art Deco, representing how local culture, materials, and modernization shaped its architectural expression.
The exhibition remained open from 19 September to 3 October 2025. During the Heritage Days 2025 (20-21 September), guided tours were offered, and visitors saw photographs, drawings, texts, collages, and creative interpretations that draw a cultural connection between Istanbul and Brussels.
It was organized by Beinsitu Sustainability Institute, DOCOMOMO_Türkiye National Working Party, and Yıldız Technical University, with support from the Permanent Delegation of Türkiye to the EU, the Turkish Embassy in Brussels and Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi Company.
