BEINSITU is a non-profit organization working to implement sustainable practices locally and globally through participatory and collaborative approaches.
The Walking the City through Children’s Eyes project held in Brussels across three different neighbourhoods during September. The project was organised by Beinsitu Sustainability Institute ASBL and supported by YTB.
We invited children aged 7–12 to join us for the activities.
We draw inspiration from the “Hundred Languages of Children” concept developed by Loris Malaguzzi, the founder of the Reggio Emilia approach: children understand and express the world in unique ways. During these sensory and creative walks, children explored the sounds, textures, and both visible and hidden details of their surroundings, sharing their discoveries in their own unique languages. The walks were guided by Beyhan Gültaşlar, a Reggio Emilia pedagogy consultant, architect, and children’s book author.
