Taking care of the World’s Cultural Heritage

Beinsitu is committed to the protection and promotion of the world’s cultural heritage as recognized by UNESCO.

Intangible Cultural Heritage

Many traditional skills, practices, and forms of knowledge are at risk of being lost due to the forces of globalization and modernization. Beinsitu works closely with local communities to identify, document, and safeguard their intangible cultural heritage, including:

  • Traditional craftsmanship techniques (e.g. weaving, pottery, metalworking)
  • Rituals, festivals, and social practices
  • Traditional ecological knowledge and natural resource management

By supporting the transmission of this cultural know-how to new generations, we aim to ensure the continued vitality of these living traditions.

Tangible Cultural Heritage

Our efforts also extend to the preservation of tangible cultural heritage – the physical manifestations of a community’s history and identity. This includes:

  • Historic buildings, monuments, and archaeological sites
  • Traditional settlements and historic urban centers
  • Cultural landscapes (e.g. vineyards, rice terraces, sacred mountains)

We work alongside local authorities and heritage experts to develop and implement conservation plans that protect these irreplaceable assets while promoting sustainable tourism and community engagement.

Natural Heritage

Recognizing the deep interconnectedness of cultural and natural heritage, Beinsitu also gives importance on resources to safeguard sites and landscapes of outstanding universal value.

Through the multi-faceted approach to cultural heritage preservation, we believe to empower the present, and inspire a more culturally-vibrant and sustainable future.
